'So what do you think of it all?'
by meat pie inthis was a question asked me by an elderly brother when i first started attending meetings.
i took it to mean the meetings and said 'well everyone is very kind and friendly'.
to which he replied 'ha!

Yes this is fascinating, I suppose it would depend which Bible and when. I'd like to know what happened to the things Mary(Jesus' mother) wrote down, as it mentions she did in the Bible, but I can't remember where. All additions/subtractions must be biased even unintentionally. I have looked up this subject before in the Encyclopaedia Britannica.

Don't the monitors ever doubt...
by meat pie inthinking about d8ta's excellent post reminded me of something my husband said the other day,'don't these wt monitors ever doubt the wt after reading all this stuff?
' surely there are some who, after reading pages and pages of info that cannot be written off as 'evilpostatestuff'their consciences must trouble them .
or do they really think the org will save them at armageddon, not god or jesus?

Or do they not believe the Bible at all, and couldn't care less?

ATTENTION WATCHTOWER MONITORS
by D8TA ini was born in to your so-called visible earthly organization.
you taught me well; with the intimate details in the machinery you call the society.
you assumed that your strict exercises would suppress my ability to achieve a free mind.

Excellent post D8TA, it will be interesting to see if they do anything about it!

4 more days till I leave the Watchtower
by Leander inin a few more days i'll be making my departure from the wts, part of me is relieved and yet another part of me is dreading the drama i'll be going through shortly.
i've been trying to prepare myself for the deluge of questions that i know are sure to come from my family.
my wife will be the first person i tell obviously and then i'll tell my mother and younger brother.

My circumstances were very different, being the only JW in the family, but I merely told (not wrote) a few people, then any who asked, that I would not be going to the meetings 'at least for the time being'.I have not been DF'd though I have been much more outspoken lately. YOu could try that way to get some breathing space?

I am in the N.E. of Scotland, and I asked a 'sister' the other day if she knew where he was now, she said she thought he had gone to 'Malta or somewhere like that' Do you want me to ask anyone else? I think 'they' are getting very wary of me now, so I don't know what success I'll have, but I could try.
